OSU Research – Global Food Insecurity Impacts

Ten Rivers Food Web – focus on local to regional, climate friendly solutions.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The warming of Earth’s climate threatens to increase global food insecurity and halt more than two decades of progress toward curbing global hunger, according to a major assessment by 31 researchers.

Symphony of the Soil will be live streamed Dec. 5 – 12

Yesterday Deborah Koons Garcia wrote alerting us that Symphony of the Soil will be live streamed by Symphony of the Soil.com and Dr. Mercola.com beginning Saturday December 5-Saturday December 12. The full length film is a beautiful reminder of the resilience of life on our planet.

If you have not seen it, take this opportunity. If you have, we think you’ll agree that it is worth watching again. The file includes Ten Rivers Food Web Board President Harry MacCormack and Dr. Elaine Ingham of Soil Food Web, which was started years ago in Corvallis.

As we approach the Winter Solstice we at Ten Rivers Food Web wish to thank all who have given of your time and money during […]

For almost a year the TRFW Nutrition Committee has been working on An Assessment Of Plant Based Nutrition For Humans and Animals. It promises to be a major tool as we develop our locally based regional food system. With a new to almost everyone pattern for assessing the quality of foods, designed with charts and diagrams in full color, the magazine formatted 70 page document will be released electronically around the first of 2016. We have applied for a grant to fund printing of free copies to be used in workshops that will be held throughout the three county TRFW area during 2016.

The committee consists of 2 Nutritionists, 2 Doctors using plant based foods for work with patients with diabetes, […]
