Who We Serve

Small to medium-sized farmers, fishers, ranchers and food processors that feed the communities of Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties

Why Ten Rivers?

We are named for the 10 rivers that flow through our service area – the Alsea, Calapooia, Long Tom, Luckiamute, Marys, North and South Santiam, Siletz, Willamette, Yachats, and Yaquina. Our name speaks to the interdependent threads in a food web – healthy soil, water, plants, animals, and humans.

2005

TRFW is born out of conversations about increases in hunger and food insecurity

2008

1st Fill Your Pantry increasing eating local all winter

2011 – 2014

That’s My Farmer Rx – Oregon’s first produce prescription program
Increased SNAP benefits at farmers markets
Launched Willamette Bean and Grain Project transitioning grass seed land into high caloric food production
Developed Community Food Land Trust concept
Took on coordination of Soil Amendment Sale started in 1987 by Organic Gardening Club

2020 – 2022

Surveyed 624 eaters about Covid-19 eating habit impacts
Surveyed 94 local food producers about current and potential program impacts
Both audiences expressed need for a food directory
Local food producers also expressed need for a food hub

2024

We listened and launched the Local Food Directory

2025

We listened again and launch the Mid-Valley Food Hub
